My experience at the University of Missouri

I joined the department of electrical engineering in the fall of 2007. I always wanted to have a higher education degree from United States. This school is situated in the Missouri state and in Columbia city. This is the head quarters for the University of Missouri system.This school is the first school west of Mississippi river with the oldest Journalism school in the world. This school has a long history and culture. This school has the nation's largerst homecoming event. Homecoming is a regarded as a very big event in the schools in the United States where all students past and present come back to the school to celebrate. The vast cosmpolitan culture this school provides is just very good. I have stayed here for little over two and a half years now and I can say that every day of my stay here has been a very different.

GOOGLE, the sole leader in the  market for innovation. By the end of this decade and the early beginning of the next, the world is going to see the word GOOGLE in every walk of it's life. It has already been a part of everyone's life for one decade. There is absolutely no field where I think GOOGLE is yet to enter and leave it's mark. I am hoping to see many more breath taking products up google's sleeve. I strongly urge people to makes use of google's products to not only make full use of the resources but to also be a part of the world's most innovative organisation.

Is technology running ahead of time !!!

Technology has always been the driving force behind development. Technology not only distinctively classifies superiority but also also instigates the quest for intelligence. Technology is changing every second and some one some where each second is doing some thing to add to the quest. But the real question to ask is, is  this greed for more, compelling technology to run ahead of time. There are many people in this world from backward backgrounds who are still in the ABC to technology and many who want to venture horizons further beyond XYZ. The growth in technology is good, but is some one also measuring if people are ready to cope with this exponential growth. I think there has to be a model to guage if people are really adapting to this change and how much time will it take for atleast half of them to get in grips with todays technology.

Has the Toyota and Honda Crisis come at the right time for The American Giants !!!

When we talk about competition we talk about  war. Some play a fair game, some dont. Some try to capitalise on an oppurtunity and some dont. The last couple years have been very bad for the world economy and especially very very bad for the American Economy. The country has seen the most number of lay off's, many companies filing in for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and increasing goverment deficit.  The automobile industry was hit very badly and hit was so hard that the world leading car manufacturer's had to file in for a bankruptcy. Chrysler went broke too. Ford managed to stay afloat and has very bravely fought the tough conditons to emerge victorious. Recently with the crisis that hit the Japanese auto giants, Toyota and Honda, has it givent the American giants the much needed opportunity to come right back. Well, it's a big time game and we have to wait and see if these giants are able to capitalise on this chance.

This early morning of Jan 30, 2010, I got a thought, that if at-least half of

1. the humans plant a tree, 
2. meat eaters decide not to eat meat for a day, 
3. car owners plan to car pool, 
4. consumers plan on using bio-degradable products,
5. people be content with the natural air and do not use the air-conditioner even if it is hot,
6. people using the tap plan to close the tap properly after using it,
7. people think of not being corrupt on this day,
8. ..................
9. people reading this pass this information to another.

Motto for the day:  Plan for the GREEN, Work for the GREEN and Save GREEN.

What General Management means to me....

I, personally understand Management as the art of trying to get things done in either the " straight" way or the " non-straight way" within a specific time frame while paying attention to the quality of the task, product and business. "Non straight way" of doing things actually does not mean illegal way of doing it but a way in which you may have to change the rules of game to win it. I also feel that a MBA course offered at any business school does not actually embed this art in you. This art has to be learnt over a period of time, has to modified, re-modified to meet to the requirements of time, age and demand. On the contrary it is this business school which allows you to meet with people whose experiences can be used to modify, re-modify or eliminate your ideas to improve your art of management.

1040 NR

All NON-Residential aliens from India in the United States of America have to file their tax returns on 1040-NR only for the first five years of their stay in the country. They don't have to pay the ususal 30 % tax like the permanent residents . After five years, even though they still are NON-Residential aliens for immigration purpose alone, they are graduated to the resident status for TAX filing process, so they end up paying 30 % tax.

Hello, every one, I will try to keep up to my own promise of posting and updating my blog with some thing interesting each day. But I have tonnes of research work to finish, a thesis to write and defense to make things more interesting, So kindly excuse me, if I don't live up to it.
